REVIEW   This was Jimmy's first live recording to be issued on Verve and contains no tunes that he had recorded previously. In common with most of his live work, it features Jimmy at the heart of a trio, in this case quite an illustrious one (in the shape of Benson and Tate). The opener of this set is one of the deepest blues Jimmy ever recorded and shows cases clearly just how well he played the blues. The rest of the album is taken at a faster pace, which seems a bit of a let down after such a deep-down opener.
